The Path of the Gods seen from above
Nature & Hiking

Paths above the sea

The Sorrentine Peninsula and the Lattari Mountains hide paths where you see the sea from above and time stands still. Some are free, others need a guide.

Valle delle Ferriere

One of the few rainforests in Europe, between Amalfi and Pontone. Waterfalls, giant ferns and total silence. About 4 km, easy. Reach it on foot from Amalfi or drive to Pontone.

From the largest buried city in the world to Bourbon royal palaces. And all of it is less than an hour from here.

The Terrace of Infinity at Villa Cimbrone, Ravello
Itinerary

Amalfi Coast

Start from Ravello with Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo (the terraces over the sea). Then head down to Amalfi, then Positano and finally Sorrento if time allows. Along the way, stop in Minori for Sal De Riso's pastries, and in Maiori or Cetara for a quieter stop.

Naples

Start from Via Toledo: walk to Piazza del Plebiscito, the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele and then Mergellina with the Castel dell'Ovo on the sea. Don't miss Spaccanapoli, San Gregorio Armeno and the Chiostro di Santa Chiara. If you're curious (and brave): Naples Underground is worth the visit.

The Faraglioni of Capri seen from the sea
By boat

Capri, Ischia, Procida and the Coast

The sea of this gulf is best lived on the water. Volcanic islands, coves you can't reach by land and sunsets you'll never forget.

Hydrofoil at Marina Grande, Capri
Recommended

Capri

We recommend sailing from Castellammare di Stabia, just 10 minutes from the apartment — the crossing is short and prices are better than from Naples. Boats also leave from Sorrento, Salerno and Naples. Ask us for the latest hydrofoil timetables.

The colourful houses of the Corricella, Procida
From Naples

Ischia & Procida

For Ischia and Procida the most convenient departures are from the port of Naples or from Pozzuoli. Ischia is large and best explored over several days; Procida is intimate and lively, perfect for a day trip.

Positano seen from the sea
Amalfi Coast

Positano & Amalfi by boat

Seeing the Coast from the sea is a completely different experience. In summer, ferries and hydrofoils leave from Castellammare and from Sorrento to Positano and Amalfi. Alternatively, rent a rubber dinghy or book a private tour — ask us for trusted contacts.
